Who and when started Lux livin?

LUXLIVIN was founded by me. This whole movement jump started last year around mid October.,  we’ve been garnering tremendous progress + feedback ever since! I received a lot of hate from HB though when we debuted Season 1, but it’s all good! i love haters!

Also, our jewelry, polos &  trucker hats collection will soon be releasing before we hit our one year anniversary mark!! Be sure to check on that!

What inspired you to create lux livin?
Initially, I wanted to fulfill one of my life’s goal.. which was to run an entertainment company. I’ve been deep in the music biz since 17, worked with majors like GMM + Sony BMG as an artist + A&R/project manager, and now here I am with LUXLIVIN ENT. I wanted a challenge, and I knew that I’d have to operate my own business one day in order to really make money, so why not start now?

Then, I asked myself, how can I distinguish LUXLIVIN ENT. from other majors out there? that’s when I decided to play another dream card  of mine which was to run my own clothing line, being an avid streetwear/sneaker enthusiast myself.

Where do you get the inspiration from your designs?

I draw inspiration from everywhere, it could be a turtle, tree, bumble bee; whatever it is, they’d have to tie in with the business image. Most the time, my ideas come unexpected or spontaneously. I don’t usually force myself to conceive a design, I usually let it come to me. However, I ensure that each design creates an emotional appeal while packing a corporate punch.

What do you think has contributed to your sucess so far?
Being disciplined and dedicated to the work, no matter scale, time or energy it consumes. Also, I am grateful to have a team of loyalists and supporters. We’ve also secured a steam of A-list endorsers such as Jin the Emcee, DJ Warrior, Southstar, Big Will, INVAZN (HIN Artist) DJ Hustle-lin, Lisa Flemming,Fat Joe, Tabu (Black Eye Peas), who I admit can all be attributed to the incredible progress LUXLIVIN has made.

Being a brand overseas, where do most of your sales come from?
We’ve sold over 1000+ units to date.. most sales are generated online. Most buyers originate from U.S, Canada, Europe, and South East Asia.

Do you honestly think that it’s harder for your brand to gain success due to the fact that you are abroad?
Not at all, I believe success can easily be seized if you come prepared and equipped with the right connections and right moves.. at the right time.

What direction are you trying to take the brand?
Just strengthening our global presence online, and also offline. My music projects with AsiaSounds will be taking off after Summer.. that’ll give me the opportunity to score global media attention. I will be promoting LTL simultaneously throughout my music career.

What’s next for lux livin?
Jewelry, Polos, Truckers.. and watch out for the launch of our official web site.  In the meantime, invest a second and come through to our online boutique: http://luxlivin.bigcartel.com  Also, our music can now be previewed at http://www.myspace.com/luxlivin
Big thanks to Andrew and Lux Livin

*When and who started Jask clothing?*Jask was started by Jason and Jerry in 2005 as a creativeoutlet from what they had been doing full time (which at that time was anengineering gig and an accounting gig).We had previously met in college andwent on to do our own thing after we graduated. But we linked back up when Jason had moved upto NYC from the Philly area. From then and there, we’ve hit the ground
running. (And don’t get it twisted - we still get it in even with newfull time jobs, newborns, new hustles, and new problems)

*How did you guys get started?*

Some ideas, some $dough$ saved up from the full time jobs that we had and a lot of mistakes
(yes…we’re still learning from them), but the learning curve is getting better.

* Where do you get you’re inspiration from?*

Inspiration comes from all around. But for this line, we try to draw from
the fight. As tough and as harsh as it may be, we just find the hustle and
the grind appealing. We believe in the underdogs, the value of blood,
sweat and tears, pain over pleasure - all these things get us closer to
that goal we want to achieve.

*Throughout the years what was the best and worst thing to have happened to
the brand?*

Best - Being told that they weren’t really feeling our line.
Worst - Being told that they weren’t really feeling our line.

*Did you ever think you would get as far as you have today?*

Definitely not. But this is not to say that we’re satisfied. When we first
started this, we were thinking along the lines of what we would accomplish
creatively and just getting our message out to the masses. But after
looking back at what we’ve done so far and all the people we’ve met along
the way, we just have to sit back, take a minute and say “Wow!”

*What direction are you trying to take with you’re brand now?*

We’re trying to find that balance of keeping our message clear while
simplifying it. It’s almost like that dilemma Lupe Fiasco encounters on the cool album where he talks abouton thattrack “Dumb it Down.” Right now, we’ve mainly been doing just T-shirts, but wedefinitely want to get into more cut’n’sew clothing and just randomlifestyle accessories (whether it be as simple as an iPhone case or ascrazy as a Jask branded living room at your crib)

*What inspired you to create Jask Clothing?*

It was a way of expressing ourselves creatively. Not to mention the fact
that we were tired of the “same sh*t, different day” aspects of our lives.

*With a lot of brands failing there first year or so what do you think
has kept you guys in the game for so long?*

Our love for what we do and what we believe in.

*Where do you see the brand in 2 years?*

In your closets and drawers.

Big thanks to Jerry & Jask clothing….There summer line is dropping soon so be on the lookout.
